Telehealth
We offer Telehealth treatment options to increase our client’s access to services and provide a positive treatment experience for individuals who are new to treatment. Telehealth removes many of the barriers to mental health treatment that often delay an individual’s decision to undergo treatment.
Telehealth is described as the use of telecommunication and information technology to provide clinical care for clients at distant locations. Telehealth allows healthcare professionals to evaluate diagnoses and treat clients in remote locations using telecommunication information technology in real-time. Telehealth allows clients in remote locations to access medical expertise without the need to travel or take time off from work to address these mental health treatment needs.
Upon completion of your initial assessment, clients may request telehealth access by phone and videoconferencing to begin their treatment.
Benefits of telehealth
Although virtual visits may not be as common as traditional in-person therapy appointments, many benefits explain why this type of care is growing in popularity.
- Limiting therapist contact reduces everyone’s exposure to COVID-19.
- Virtual visits can address health issues wherever clients are, even from the comfort of home.
- Staying put cuts down on commuting, travel in bad weather, time off from work, need for child care.
- Using virtual health care tools can shorten wait times to see a provider and expand the range of access to specialists who live further away.
Telehealth isn’t a perfect fit for everyone or every medical condition. Make sure you discuss any disadvantages or risks with your therapist.
